The Le Marais District
Another beautiful discovery was the Le Marais district. … It is a delightful neighborhood where past and modernity mix perfectly, giving life to a magical and enchanting place. Its narrow streets are full of art galleries, fashionable boutiques and refined cafés but also many independent shops. My biggest fear in Italy! But that's another story!
But there's so much more. For example the Museums. The Marais offers an extraordinary variety of museums. The most famous is the Center Pompidou, set up in a modern building built in the 1970s and designed by architect Renzo Piano and Richard Rogers where the most important collections of modern and contemporary art in Europe are kept. Of a completely different kind is the Musée Carnavalet, which traces the history of Paris through objects and memorabilia, from its origins to the present day. Among the other museums located in the neighborhood we mention: the Musée Cognacq-Jay, where the 18th century works acquired between 1900 and 1927 by Ernest Cognacq and his wife Louise Jay are exhibited; the Maison de Victor Hugo, preserved exactly as it was left by the writer; and the Musée Picasso, dedicated to the undisputed genius of 20th century art.
This is why ideas are born in Paris too... for me!

Riprendo ora il contributo-narrazione di Silvia: Questa mattina, lunedi 21 gennaio 2024, sono stata ospite della Sartoria Orefice 1856 a Cernobbio in provincia di Como, dove Silvia e Cleto Orefice, quinta generazione di industriali/artigiani, portano avanti con orgoglio la storia di questo gioiello Lombardo nel mondo.
Silvia and Cleto really told us with great pride and passion the history of their family and the wonderful garments that still come out of the tailor's shop today between ancient tools and a modern vision of high fashion.
And even if today artificial intelligence has become part of the history of this prestigious brand, the work of Orefice tailoring remains firm and faithful to the principles and values that have distinguished it for five generations.
History
The Orefice tailoring shop created in 1856 in Cernobbio by a family from the hamlet of Rovenna (between Cernobbio and Moltrasio) is one of the oldest Italian tailoring shops and has had the honor and privilege over time of dressing royalties, politicians, personalities from the world of culture, actors, or simply people in love with home made Italian which is still interpreted here today with grace and elegance, that recognizable discreet elegance km away.

The awards
Sartoria Orefice has had the official recognition of historic shop of the Lombardy region, and "Artis" recognition of the Lombardy Region designed to distinguish those artisan realities which, in their products, demonstrate high quality from an aesthetic, conceptual-design and technical-executive point of view.
But recognitions and certifications arrive every day from ordinary people who appreciate the style, the attention to detail, research and vision.
And this is what happened to us, a group of friends who, thanks to the Como International Club, had the opportunity to "immerse ourselves" in such "beauty".
I had the pleasure of returning to Mottarone and to the neo-Park, which has now become a small area with many attractions, with my family including little Riccardo. An opportunity to spend a beautiful day a stone's throw from the city (it is only 75 km from Legnano and 100 from Milan...). I'll tell you...
My History
On Sunday 28th I had the pleasure of returning to Mottarone, or rather to the Mottarone Park, which has become a truly small area for free time in both winter and summer.
I met the mountain, 1490 meters high, which is only 75 km from Legnano, about 30 years ago.
E l’ho vista crescere. Nella sua evoluzione ho visto la/le trasformazioni: ho approfittato e “usufruito” di passeggiate sia d’estate come un “salto” al fresco a godersi il panorama, ma anche d’inverno per far “fare” i primi passi a Fede e Reby.,. ed ora a Riccardo.
From up here it is possible to observe seven lakes: Lake Maggiore, Lake Mergozzo, Lake Varese, Lake Orta, Lake Comabbio, Lake Monate and Lake Biandronno! and enjoy a breathtaking view simply climbing onto the “Cross” at 1492 meters above sea level…
My experience And then I discovered that this mountain is well suited not only for children, but also for the family "including" grandchildren!. Now in this new role everything is "reinvented" and we look for places suitable for the newborn. In fact, thanks to the area, it is possible to wander. Let's start from the welcome. If in the past there were a couple of hotels, today we are talking about at least four. (so much for a "domestic" tourist place). And then the welcome of the sky area - New slopes have been opened thanks to the heavy snowfalls of recent days. To the traditional @Miramonti and to the @Casa delle Neviwhich has a restaurant with local dishes (recommended tagliatelle with venison, polenta, and typical mountain game"), was joined by @laGenziana", more modern and perhaps frequented by "kids", as well as Villa Pizzini and thebars @Funivia, @Alpyland. But then with days like yesterday, the desire to stay in the sun... surpasses that of "holing up"... However, after the walk, the bee, you also have to "put" your legs under a table and then dedicate yourself to Riccardo, our puppy And after lunch to "work off" the goodness, a rigorous walk! and for those who have strength...the slopes await you!
The attractions: The Park
Biking, trekking, paragliding, climbing in summer and skiing or snowshoeing in winter are some of the activities within the Park of Mottarone.
Woods and paths present themselves as the perfect natural gym for experiencing sport in contact with the greenery of the mountain.
On two wheels, hanging from the carabiner or on skis, with a breathtaking view far from the frenzy of the city. For those who want, there is also room for a tasty break. At the summit, in the various bars or mountain restaurants to taste the authentic flavors of the Lombardy-Piedmontese mountains.
Next to the Mottarone Adventure Park, in summer, the Bar Stazione is the meeting point for gourmet lunch breaks, snacks and aperitifs with 0 kilometer products.
The attractions: Mottarone Adventure Park
The Mottarone Adventure Park, including the Bar Stazione, are part of a broader project which concerns the recovery plan supported by Prince Vitaliano Borromeo to safeguard and enhance an ancient widespread heritage of traditional mountain architecture, located on the eastern side of Mottarone.
The interventions paid great attention to the ecological and faunal peculiarities of the area, in order to encourage the settlement and maintenance of local animal species, as well as improving, redeveloping and preserving the woodland surface. A viewpoint over Lake Maggiore immersed in a unique and evocative natural environment is the scenery that surrounds the Mottarone Adventure Park.
A record-breaking mountain Mottarone has a history full of important events. In 1909 one of the first Italian ski clubs was founded on the summit. The first edition of an international ski race in Italy, the "Duce's Gold Cup" takes place here, in >1935. In the same year, the disciplines of springboard jumping and giant slalom were practiced for the first time in Italy in an official competition. In the 1940s we see here the creation of the first rudimentary “sled lift”. lift system.
Come al solito segnalo alcuni eventi nel weekend. In occasione della Giornata della Memoria proclamata dalle Nazioni Unite il 27 gennaio, ho selezionato alcune iniziative per “NON DIMENTICARE”. Purtroppo la cronaca ci sta abituando alle tragedie: la Guerra in Ucraina, la guerra in Palestina, i focolai nel Mar Rosso ed altre sciagure dove l’uomo vuole sopraffare un altro uomo. Una carrellata di eventi sul nostro territorio con l’obiettivo di Non dimenticare . Allora ad alta voce dobbiamo affermare “PACE” senza se e senza ma”…
Legnano – “Cessate il Fuoco” e “Parole disegnate” Dopo Il Concerto del quintetto di arpa del teatro alla Scala di lunedi 21 al teatro Tirinnanzi organizzato da Anpi, Comune di Legnano, ecco altre iniziative sul territorio…
Cessate il fuoco. Sabato 27 In piazza san Magno a Legnano, davanti al Palazzo Comunale, le Donne in Cammino per la Pace invitano a raccogliere il testimone delle Donne del Sole palestinesi e delle Donne che osano la pace di Israele unite per la pace.
In silenzio, vestite di nero con uno straccio di pace bianco al braccio per manifestare il dissenso e la nostra contrarietà ad ogni tipo di guerra e al genocidio che si sta perpetrando contro i Palestinesi chiedendo l’immediato cessate il fuoco. Come donne di pace facciamo sentire il nostro dissenso attraverso un messaggio corporeo: Mai più guerre !
Sul tema dell’Olocausto sarà anche il primo incontro di “Parole disegnate”, il ciclo del gruppo di lettura per ragazzi su graphic novel e manga in programma lunedì 29 gennaio alle 17 nella Biblioteca Civica di via Cavour. L’incontro, pensato per i ragazzi maggiori di 14 anni, è dedicato al graphic novel Maus di Art Spiegelman.
Rho: “Vite Spezzate” e non solo
Rho – Dal 25 al 28 gennaio 2024, nella Sala delle Colonne di Villa Burba, in corso Europa 291, verrà allestita la mostra fotografica ispirata al libro “Vite spezzate” di Paolo Mansolillo: un viaggio nella memoria attraverso alcune testimonianze e un percorso fotografico in alcuni campi di sterminio, in particolare quello di Auschwitz-Birkenau.
Sabato 27 gennaio 2024 sono in programma due importanti appuntamenti. Alle ore 10.00 nell’atrio del Municipio verranno presentati i lavori ispirati alla mostra “Non potevamo non far niente”, realizzati dalle classi 3°G e 3°E della scuola “De André”.
Alle ore 21.00, il Teatro Civico Roberto de Silva ospiterà Destinatario sconosciuto dell’americana Katherine Kressmann Taylor, lettura scenica a cura del Teatro dell’Armadillo, con la partecipazione del giovane attore rhodense Matteo Oscar Giuggioli con l’Istituto Musicale Rusconi. Parabiago: “LA MEMORIA PER RESTARE. UMANI“
Per fare memoria della storia, l’Amministrazione comunale di Parabiago promuove il 25 gennaio 2024 alle ore 21:00 presso la Biblioteca civica di via Brisa “LA MEMORIA PER RESTARE. UMANI”. Una serata di letture e tavole a fumetti come testimonianza della tragedia dell’olocausto.
Il 27 gennaio alle 10.30 avrà inizio il corteo con la deposizione della corona presso il Cimitero . Sempre il 27 gennaio 2024 alle 21 alla Biblioteca civica di via Brisa è in programma l’evento “TU SEI MEMORIA”. La Shoah vista con gli occhi dei bambini. (vedi sito del comune)

Si tratta di un’antologia di monologhi, brevi testi in prosa e poesie tratte da diversi testi riguardanti lo sterminio di Ebrei, Sinti e Rom nel corso della II Guerra Mondiale, nonché l’eccidio di Babij Jar (avvenuto in Ucraina nel 1941 ad opera dei soldati nazisti nel quale persero la vita oltre 100.000 persone, la maggior parte delle quali di etnia ebraica e sinti).
Diventa quindi un obiettivo sollecitare la riflessione individuale verso la necessità di una responsabilità più consapevole nell’ambito civile e politico, di modo da puntare più in alto: sollecitare e ispirare una cittadinanza attiva. Cittadinanza attiva, per me, vuol dire essere partecipe, osservare in modo “critico” anche le tragedie passate per evitare che non si ripetano più. Purtroppo chi deve decidere non ascolta, per ora, le parole di buon senso che arrivano da più parti, a partire da Papa Francesco. “Pace” deve essere la parola che ci deve accompagnare…sempre!!!
Accogliamo il “Viaggio” di Rosanna Ricciardi di Busto Arsizio, amica ma anche “curiosa” ed attenta “osservatrice”. Racconta del suo recente viaggio in Giappone ed a Tokyo in particolare.
